1. Scope
Star Scribe is designed for offline astronomy planning and observation logs. Core features do not require an account.
2. Local data
Observation records, notes, custom fields, saved locations, settings, calculation caches and photos are stored on the device by default. We do not automatically upload them to a developer-operated server.
3. Location
Location is requested only after you choose to use the current location. You can deny permission and enter coordinates manually. Star Scribe does not track location in the background.
4. Optional Apple WeatherKit
Online weather is off by default. If you enable it, the selected latitude and longitude are sent to Apple WeatherKit to request current weather conditions. WeatherKit may process the request under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Weather can be disabled at any time. If the service is unavailable or its quota is reached, the app keeps the offline plan and asks you to try again later.
5. Purchases
Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat may process product identifiers, purchase status and a pseudonymous app-user identifier for entitlement restoration. Star Scribe does not collect payment-card numbers or account passwords.
6. Export and sharing
JSON and CSV exports are generated locally. Data leaves the device only after you explicitly choose to save, export or share it.
7. Analytics and advertising
This build does not include advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking or third-party behavior analytics.
8. Retention and contact
Local data remains until you delete it, replace imported data, clear the app or uninstall it. Privacy questions should be sent through the developer support contact listed on the App Store product page.
